It warned that such actions “dangerously threaten to destabilize the fragile peace and mutual understandings that has been carefully sustained with great patience and responsibility.” Also Read NSCN-K Cadres Killed in Myanmar Mortar Attack
Call for Accountability
The GPRN called on concerned authorities to immediately provide an explanation, specifically asking whether the firing was carried out under directions from the Government of India or solely on the initiative of the 8th Assam Rifles.
“Lasting peace can only be built through mutual respect, responsible conduct and unwavering commitment to dialogue, not through actions that inflict pain and further alienate communities,” the statement read.
The organisation reaffirmed its resolve to “uphold peace, defend the dignity of our people, and pursue justice through principled and responsible means.” Also Read NNPGs Press Statement on Indo-Naga Talks, Eastern Nagaland Agreement
