The Zunheboto District Court Road continues to remain in deplorable condition. This is four years after the court was inaugurated on March 26, 2022 by Justice Songkhupchung Serto of the Gauhati High Court. What was meant to be a proud moment for the district has instead turned into a daily struggle for residents, court staff, and visitors.

The approach stretch from MS Paramount Gas Agency to the District Court has become nearly unmemorable, especially during the monsoon. Heavy rains have worsened the situation, leaving the road muddy, potholed, and dangerous for vehicles and pedestrians.

“It’s been four years since the court started functioning here, but the road has only gone from bad to worse. Elderly people, school children, even court officials struggle to reach the court,” said a resident of South Point Colony.

Court staff echoed the frustration. “Every day we walk through mud just to reach the court. It is disheartening. How can justice be delivered when even the road to justice is broken?” one official remarked.

Despite the area gradually developing into a residential hub, the neglected road remains a major hurdle for growth and accessibility. Also Read  Chhattisgarh NIA Court Grants Bail in Viral Religious Conversion Case

“Four years is too long for such neglect. If a District Court Road is left in this state, what does it say about how much value we give to justice?” asked a concerned citizen.

With the monsoon still lashing the district, locals fear accidents and disruptions to judicial proceedings. Immediate repair work is necessary. Therefore, they have urged the state government and the district administration to prioritize repairing the Zunheboto District Court Road before the situation worsens further.
