A shocking incident unfolded in Kohima’s Agri Farm Colony Lane-5 on Thursday night. A woman was attacked and mugged by an unidentified assailant, leaving residents deeply alarmed. The incident reportedly took place between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM.

CCTV Footage Confirms the Suspect Followed the Victim

According to CCTV footage obtained by Nagaland News Today, the accused can be seen following the woman from behind moments before the attack. The footage, timestamped around 9:35 PM, captures a man walking behind the victim before he launched a sudden assault. The attacker then fled the scene after stealing her belongings. This left the woman shaken and emotionally distressed.

Police Investigation Underway

An FIR has been lodged at the Kohima Police Station. The investigation is currently ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect. Kohima Police are analyzing the CCTV footage. They have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in tracing the culprit. Authorities have also urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. AFYO Condemns Attack, Urges Vigilance

The Agri Farm Youth Organisation (AFYO) has strongly condemned the attack. They are assuring that every effort will be made to ensure justice for the victim.
“We have full faith that the police will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrator to justice,” the organization said in a statement.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any incidents of harassment, assault, or theft to authorities or colony executives.

Community Safety and Awareness

The AFYO has also advised residents to avoid walking alone at night in isolated areas. They should immediately inform the police or local committees about any suspicious individuals or vehicles. Authorities are continuing to monitor footage and collect evidence. These efforts aim to trace the attacker.
