The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has publicly condemned derogatory remarks made by a YouTuber operating under the channel name “Tsatingla Sangtam.” This was in connection with a recent altercation at a Dimapur supermarket. According to the WSYF, these comments were made despite the matter already being resolved through a public apology. The organization describes the statements as mocking and demeaning to WSYF’s arbitration process. Moreover, they provoked caste sensitivities and compared the incident to cases outside Nagaland. These actions are described as deeply disrespectful and misleading to the Sumi community.

WSYF Issues Warning, Emphasizes Peaceful Coexistence

The press release further highlighted that referencing incidents outside Nagaland to insult the Sumi community is provocative. The YouTuber’s remarks about WSYF’s handling of the situation are also seen as highly provocative. The WSYF stresses that such statements risk distorting facts and fostering communal tension. It warns that freedom of speech must be balanced with public order and morality. Also Read Truth Behind Attacks on Naga YouTubers

The organization has cautioned that any attempt to discredit the WSYF or its arbitration will not be tolerated. It warned that it is prepared to pursue strict legal action against the YouTuber. This is for alleged defamation, incitement to public violence, and attempts to disrupt public harmony in Dimapur and the broader Nagaland region.

Call for Fairness and Mutual Respect in Business

Reaffirming its commitment to indigenous rights and a fair marketplace, the WSYF urges both locals and non-locals to maintain mutual respect. It emphasizes that the economy of Dimapur and Nagaland should be built on fairness, peaceful coexistence, and cooperation. The organization reiterated that all previous derogatory remarks from non-locals regarding the Nagas have already been addressed and settled. Also Read ADAN demands apology from YouTuber Md. The WSYF concludes its statement by urging restraint in public discourse and reaffirming its role in safeguarding community interests while working towards a just and self-reliant economy in Nagaland.
