Western Sumi Youth Front Expels Non local Assam Family From All Sumi Areas

The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has expelled a non-local family from Hojai, Assam, following an alleged assault on a local resident at Ghoshito Village in Niuland district on September 7. The youth body directed Bijay Das and his family to vacate all Sumi-inhabited areas of Western Nagaland by September 13. In addition, they must compensate the victim for medical and other damages.

Assault Incident in Niuland

According to WSYF’s communiqué, the incident involved Bijay Das, son of Judhishthir Das, and his family members, who allegedly attacked a resident of Ghoshito village. Deadline and Compensation

The WSYF has given the expelled family until September 13 to comply with the directive. During this period, the family is required to compensate the victim for treatment expenses and other damages. Warning to Supporters

The WSYF further cautioned that any person, group, or organization found providing shelter or assistance to the expelled individuals would be treated as complicit in their actions. They would face stern action. Village authorities across the Western region have been instructed to remain alert. They must ensure the family does not attempt to seek refuge within their jurisdiction.
