OPINION | The Truth Behind Harshit Dhingaun’s Attacks: Why Naga YouTubers Deserve Respect, Not Slander

Staff Reporter | Published: July 10, 2025 – In recent days, a familiar controversy has resurfaced around Delhi-based YouTuber Harshit Dhingaun, also known by his channel name The Voice of Youth. His latest video targets prominent Naga YouTubers Aloto Naga and Max Naga, accusing them of attempting to tarnish his image. However, the facts tell a very different story one rooted in manipulation, misrepresentation, and a history of using Nagaland’s name for personal gain.

Manufactured Drama for Views

This is not the first time Mr. Dhingaun has courted controversy using Nagaland. His recent video appears to be yet another attempt to gain traction by targeting the Naga community a strategy that has previously resulted in viral content and high viewership on his channel.

In his video, he accuses Aloto Naga and Max Naga of trying to damage his reputation. But the Naga YouTuber community and their loyal viewers know the truth: these two creators have dedicated years to promoting the culture, issues, and pride of Nagaland without any selfish agenda or financial support from the government. Their work speaks for itself Aloto Naga has amassed over 3.8 lakh subscribers, while Max Naga commands more than 1.8 lakh followers, purely through genuine community service and trust.

The 2022 Controversy: Twisting Tragedy Into Content

The conflict traces back to 2021-2022, when a tragic incident involving a Naga girl abroad became the subject of one of Mr. Dhingaun’s most damaging videos. In it, he made unverified and disturbing claims, including false allegations of rape and bodily harm, exploiting the grief of the victim’s family. His video was not only sensationalist but also factually incorrect. The family, devastated and humiliated, turned to Max Naga and Aloto Naga for help.

With the family’s consent and written authorization from village authorities, the two YouTubers took up the matter legally, filing an FIR against Harshit Dhingaun and exposing his false narrative. Under public pressure, Mr. Dhingaun eventually removed the video and issued a half-hearted clarification but the damage was already done.

Arrest in Nagaland & Broken Promises

In a surprising turn of events, Mr. Dhingaun happened to be in Nagaland during the legal proceedings. Following a formal complaint, Nagaland Police tracked him down via his mobile number and arrested him from a hotel. He was brought to the police station in the presence of officers, including the DSP. There, he apologized verbally and promised to write and upload a public apology video the next morning.

But instead of keeping his word, Mr. Dhingaun fled Nagaland that very night and returned to Delhi. He then uploaded a fabricated video alleging that he was kidnapped by “Naga army commandos” with weapons an outrageous and baseless claim. After being confronted with facts, he quietly deleted the video.

Questionable Documentation and Legal Violations

During his visit to Nagaland, Mr. Dhingaun stayed in a hotel without submitting any valid documents, including the mandatory Inner Line Permit (ILP). The hotel management failed to provide any record of his stay when approached, raising serious questions about his legal compliance. Later, in a separate video, he showcased an ILP with a validity of 2024–2025, even though the incident and his arrest occurred in 2021–2022—indicating that he was in the state illegally at the time.

Legal Warnings from the Naga Community

This is not an isolated case. The Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD) once issued him a legal notice for falsely claiming he organized events for Naga youth. NSUD clarified that no such events were held under their name, revealing yet again Mr. Dhingaun’s pattern of taking undue credit to promote his business ventures.

Despite all this, Naga YouTubers, including Max Naga and Aloto Naga, chose to maintain dignity by not responding publicly to his latest provocations. They recognize that Mr. Dhingaun thrives on controversy to stay relevant, and they have chosen not to engage with his tactics. Yet, he continues to provoke them, likely in hopes of reigniting a viral backlash that would benefit him.

The Real Voice of the Naga Youth

It is ironic that Mr. Dhingaun calls himself The Voice of Youth while continuously misrepresenting the very youth he claims to stand for. In truth, it is Aloto Naga, Max Naga, and other local YouTubers who have consistently amplified the voices of ordinary Nagas—highlighting rural talent, covering important local issues, and defending the community against misinformation.

When contacted, Max Naga clearly stated that if Mr. Dhingaun claims to have all the proper documents, including the ILP, he should come forward and verify them publicly in a legal and peaceful manner. “Let us clarify this matter face to face at the police station—not to jail him, but to settle the truth once and for all,” he said.

Final Thoughts

This is a moment for the Naga community to stand united behind its own people. While outsiders are welcome to promote the culture and stories of Nagaland, doing so must come from a place of respect and honesty, not exploitation for personal gain.

Aloto Naga and Max Naga have earned their trust the hard way by walking alongside the people they represent, not by standing above them. Their silence in the face of repeated attacks is not weakness; it is wisdom.

Let the truth speak louder than drama.

Thank you for this powerful and much-needed article. I stand with Aloto Naga and Max Naga—two genuine voices who have always represented the Naga community with integrity, courage, and deep respect for our people and culture.
It’s truly disappointing to see outsiders like Harshit Dhingaun repeatedly misusing the name of Nagaland for cheap views and personal gain. Enough is enough. Our voices, our stories, and our struggles are not for someone else’s clickbait content.
Aloto and Max have never stooped to drama—they let their work and actions speak for themselves. That kind of quiet strength deserves our full support. We must continue to protect and uplift our own, and not allow misinformation to overshadow the truth.
More power to you both. Keep doing what you do. The people of Nagaland are watching, and we are with you.
