In a significant step towards encouraging community recreation and entrepreneurship, SweatBox, a new pickleball facility, has officially opened at Naharabari, Dimapur, located opposite Padum Pukhuri Gate.

The newly established sports center is owned and managed by Viza and Alika. They are a newly married couple whose shared vision is to bring affordable fitness opportunities. They also aim to inspire disciplined business practices among Nagas.

Launch Attended by Local Dignitaries

The grand opening was graced by Chief Guest Mughavi Swu, Councillor of EDTC, and Chairperson Atoholi Chishi, Children Pastor of SBANED. The event also saw attendance from the President and General Secretary of the Nagaland Pickleball Association. Several sports enthusiasts and residents from the surrounding area attended too. Chief Guest Praises Vision and Values

In his speech, Chief Guest Mughavi Swu expressed his gratitude to the young entrepreneurs. He described SweatBox as “not just a business, but a development and advantage for the entire colony.”

He urged the audience to learn from such initiatives, highlighting that genuine entrepreneurship requires both integrity and attention to detail in financial management.

“We Nagas often fail to value our own business or the little profit we make,” Swu said. “True entrepreneurship begins when we count even a single rupee as part of our income and treat it with respect. SweatBox shows us how a meaningful idea, handled wisely, can turn into community growth.”

Affordable Pricing for All Players

Unlike most sports venues in Dimapur that charge ₹800 per hour, SweatBox offers their courts at a more affordable rate of ₹700 per hour.

For players who forget to bring their own paddles, rental charges are just ₹50 per paddle. This is half the typical rate of ₹100 elsewhere. This pricing approach reflects the couple’s intention to keep the sport accessible to everyone while maintaining quality service. Also Read Dimapur Flooded Again: ULB Promises Sink in Corruption

Facility Timings and Vision

SweatBox operates daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.. This allows flexibility for early risers and evening athletes alike. The owners hope to make pickleball a regular part of Dimapur’s fitness culture. They aspire to inspire other entrepreneurs to pursue business with responsibility and vision.

“We believe in making something that benefits both our people and our place,” said owner Viza. “SweatBox is not just about playing it’s about building a lifestyle that values health, time, and every rupee earned.”

Encouraging Real Business Mindset Among Nagas

The launch also carried a deeper message beyond sports. Chief Guest and attendees collectively echoed the sentiment that Nagaland needs to nurture a culture of real business understanding, where even small profits are respected and reinvested.

SweatBox stands as a symbol of young entrepreneurship, proving that genuine business success doesn’t come from big capital alone. It comes from commitment, transparency, and community spirit.

Booking and Contact Information

SweatBox is open for bookings and recreational play throughout the week.
