The Ralan Aghunaqa Naga Public Organisation (RANPO) has come out in defense of Nagaland Deputy CM Y Patton (Minister for Home & Border Affairs) after criticism on social media over his role in the Disputed Area Belt (DAB) eviction issue.
RANPO stressed that it is fully aware of the ground realities and acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Deputy CM Y Patton in safeguarding border residents. The organisation highlighted that Yanthungo Patton personally visited eviction-affected areas, conducted spot verifications, engaged with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and even held a joint meeting with the Assam Forest Minister. Visits and Leadership
The organisation noted that Yanthungo Patton has visited the Disputed Area Belt areas on two occasions, accompanied by MLAs Achumbemo Kikon and Mhathung Humtsoe, which, it said, demonstrates solidarity with the border communities. His leadership, RANPO added, continues to stand firm in defending the rights and interests of the people.
Constant Coordination
RANPO further assured the public that the Deputy Chief Minister remains in regular contact with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and Border Magistrate from the Nagaland side while proactively addressing concerns of the border populace. Call for Unity
Expressing “sincere appreciation” to Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, RANPO urged him to continue his visits and interventions until the issue is conclusively resolved. The organisation also appealed to all legislators and leaders of Nagaland to rise above differences and work in unity to safeguard the dignity and rights of border residents.
