Nagaland University celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a vibrant Tiranga Rally at its Lumami campus, held under the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The event brought together students, faculty, research scholars, and administrative staff to express national pride and unity.

The rally was graced by Vice-Chancellor Professor Jagadish K. Patnaik, who highlighted the significance of Independence Day and lauded the enthusiastic turnout. He described the occasion as one of the largest gatherings the campus has witnessed for such an event, emphasizing that the Tiranga Yatra is aimed at fostering a strong national and civilizational identity among every citizen.

Professor Patnaik praised the vision of the Prime Minister, calling him “creative and forward-thinking” for initiating campaigns like Har Ghar Tiranga, which aim to instill values of nationalism and unity. He remarked, “The spirit of nationalism must be deeply rooted not only in our minds and hearts, but also in our soil.”

In the context of the Northeast region, the Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of such initiatives in strengthening communal harmony and patriotism. He expressed confidence that the Tiranga Rally at Nagaland University would leave a lasting impact on participants and inspire future generations.

The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, symbolizing the collective commitment of the university community to the ideals of independence and unity.
