Government employees under the Department of Home Guards, Civil Defence & State Disaster Response Force in Nagaland have pledged full support for the movement demanding the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). The announcement came during a sensitisation program conducted by the Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF) on July 18, 2025, at the Directorate Office in Kohima.
NNPSGSEF Central Team Leads Awareness Drive
The sensitisation program was spearheaded by the central team of NNPSGSEF, including:

- Adabe Namgi – Finance Secretary
- Theyiesinuno Solo – Assistant Finance Secretary
- Sungjemnochet Ndr – Kohima Unit President
- Shisamanen Phom – Media & Information Coordinator, Kohima Unit
The program aimed to educate employees on the drawbacks of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and the long-term financial insecurity it brings, especially in comparison to the more beneficial Old Pension Scheme.
Strong Support for Pension Reform
After the session, the participating employees formally pledged their full support to the NNPSGSEF movement, advocating for a rollback to the Old Pension Scheme in Nagaland. The forum emphasized that the restoration of OPS is critical to ensure retirement security, social equity, and dignity for government servants.
This event is part of a broader initiative by NNPSGSEF to generate momentum for policy change and public awareness across Nagaland’s administrative departments.
