Nagaland Governor death has been confirmed this evening after Hon’ble Governor La. Ganesan, aged 80, passed away at Apollo Hospital, Chennai at 6:23 p.m. on the 79th Independence Day. Also Read Nagaland University Hosts Tiranga Rally for 79th Independence Day

According to medical sources, the Governor had been admitted to Apollo Hospital on August 8 after suffering a serious head injury from a fall at his T. Nagar residence. Career and Contributions

La. Ganesan, a senior political leader and former Rajya Sabha MP, was appointed as the 21st Governor of Nagaland in February 2023. Known for his commitment to development and strengthening ties between the state and the central government, his tenure saw active engagement with community and cultural initiatives.

Reactions and State Response

Though no official government statement has been released yet, tributes have begun pouring in from political leaders and citizens across Nagaland and India. The State Government is expected to announce official mourning and funeral arrangements soon.
