In a united move, major tribal bodies have announced a Nagaland boycott of all State Government functions, including the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on 15th August 2025. The decision follows the state government’s inaction on the demands of the Five Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP), a key issue driving the Nagaland boycott movement.

The Angami Public Organization (APO) issued its own boycott circular on 13th August 2025, signed by Vice President Victor Vikehielie and General Secretary Keneilesa Neikha. Background to the Protest
The Nagaland boycott decision stems from the Five Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy meeting on 9th August 2025 at Hotel Ura, Kohima. Tribal apex bodies unanimously agreed to press for reservation policy reforms by refusing to attend state events until the government met their demands.
