The Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) successfully organised its 31st General Conference-cum-Felicitation Programme under the theme “Rising Through Challenges” from January 7 to 9, 2026, at Molvom Village, Nagaland. The three-day conference highlighted academic excellence, community leadership, and organisational continuity.

Day One: Inauguration and Cultural Programme

The conference formally began with the unfurling of the KSON flag by Pu Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur. The inaugural session was dedicated by Rev. H.L. Suantak, Pastor, Kuki Christian Church Nagaland Synod (KCCNS), Molvom.

The inaugural programme was attended by Pu P. James Swu, NCS, ADC Medziphema, as Guest of Honour. Additionally, Pu Khehoto Kiho Swu, Vice-Chairman of the Northeast Indigenous Peoples’ Forum, participated as Special Invitee. Also Read Tripura Blogger Missing After Trip to Nagaland

The day concluded with KSON Nite, a cultural evening showcasing student talent and traditional performances. Senior administrative and town council leaders from Medziphema and Peren attended the event.

Day Two: Felicitation, Monolith Unveiling, and Social Dialogue

Day two began with a solemn tribute to departed leaders and members of the organisation through a Trumpet Call performed by the 22nd Assam Rifles.

The Felicitation Programme featured Pi Arenla Jamir, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of IT & Communication, Government of Nagaland, as Special Guest. She officially inaugurated the Conference Monolith. This was dedicated by Rev. Seimang Haokip, Executive Secretary, KCCNS. Also Read Why Nagaland Citizens Fear Reporting Crime

The session also included Lt. Col. Lunminthang Khongsai, 164 Infantry Battalion (TA), as Guest of Honour, and Pu Atokiho Sumi, President of the Western Sumi Youth Front, as Special Invitee.

A later session titled “Conference with Social Workers” encouraged dialogue on leadership and social responsibility, with Pu Khekiye K. Sema, retired IAS officer, addressing the gathering alongside other senior social leaders.

Day Three: General Body Meeting and Leadership Transition

The final day was dedicated to the General Body Meeting and the election of the new KSON Executive Body for the 2026–2028 tenure. The induction ceremony was led by Rev. Seimang Haokip.

The valedictory programme was graced by Pu L. Singsit, IPS (Retd.), President of Kuki Inpi Nagaland, as Special Guest, along with senior community leaders from Medziphema.

The conference concluded with KSON Oldies Nite, honouring former leaders and pioneers of the organisation. The evening featured a special musical performance by Novo Band, winners of the Hornbill Rock Contest 2025. This marked a celebratory close to the conference.

Commitment to Student Welfare and Unity

The 31st General Conference reaffirmed KSON’s dedication to student welfare, academic encouragement, and structured leadership transition, reinforcing unity within the student community across Nagaland.
