In a shocking case of online impersonation and digital harassment, a man from Assam has been arrested for allegedly creating and managing a fake social media account that portrayed his ex-girlfriend as an adult content creator.
The accused, identified as Pratim Bora, a resident of Ghilapukhuri Road in Tinsukia, was taken into custody by Dibrugarh Police late Saturday night. He is accused of running the now-viral Instagram account under the names “Babydoll Archi” and later “Amira Ishtara,” which gained massive attention for its suggestive content and a reel synced with the popular “Dame Un Grrr” audio.

Authorities say Bora used edited and digitally manipulated images of his former girlfriend, Archita Phukan, to craft a false identity. The visuals, many of which appeared unnaturally glamorous or provocative, led to widespread speculation online that the woman in the videos was an AI-generated model or a rising adult star based in the United States. One particularly misleading photo showed the woman alongside adult actress Kendra Lust, further fueling false rumors.
Investigators later confirmed that the woman is real and lives in Assam, but was completely unaware that her photos were being misused in this manner. The viral account claimed she had allegedly paid ₹25 lakh to escape sex trafficking in New Delhi’s GB Road — a baseless fabrication, according to police.
Sources say the two had been in a relationship several years ago while living in New Delhi. After their breakup, Archita reportedly moved to Dibrugarh and married someone else. Bora, allegedly driven by jealousy, created the fake profile using her old photos and edited them to appear more provocative.
Police also seized a large number of digital devices from the accused, including:
- A laptop
- Two smartphones
- A desktop computer
- A hard disk
- Several ATM cards
- Wi-Fi routers and other electronic equipment
The accused has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 336(4) – Publishing sexually explicit material without consent
- Section 356(2) – Identity theft
- Section 74 and 75 – Harassment and transmission of harmful content
- Section 294 – Obscene acts and songs
- Section 351(2) – Cyber defamation and digital fraud
Officials noted that the case highlights the dangers of digital impersonation and misuse of image editing tools, including AI-based applications that can distort reality.
Meanwhile, the victim is said to be undergoing severe mental distress and has requested privacy. Law enforcement officials are urging social media users not to share or circulate the false content, as doing so may also attract legal action.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have assured that further action will be taken based on forensic analysis of the seized devices.
