The Chakhrama Youth Organisation ultimatum has been formally issued to the Chairman of Maova Village Council. This follows an alleged violent incident involving leaders of the Chakhrama Public Organisation (CPO). According to an official notice dated February 16, 2026, the organisation has demanded clarification and accountability over the reported attack.
In the notice, the Chakhrama Youth Organisation (CYO), headquartered at Medziphema, Chümoukedima district, stated that certain individuals from Maova Village were allegedly involved in a “planned and pre-mediated attack.” The attack was on the CPO President and colleagues on February 13, 2026. Allegations of Grievous Injury
As per the official communication, the CPO leaders had reportedly gone to Maova Village in good faith to hold a peaceful dialogue. While there, they were allegedly attacked using catapults, rocks, and other projectiles. The organisation stated that the incident resulted in grievous injuries to its leaders and volunteers. The letter emphasised that the matter is serious and concerns the maintenance of peace, harmony, and mutual respect. These values are important among neighbouring communities.
Directive to Appear Before CPO Leaders
In the ultimatum, the Maova Village Council Chairman has been directed to appear in person before CPO leaders at CPO Hall, Chümoukedima Town. The directive also calls for the presence of Mr. Seiboi Changsan, GB. In addition, it calls for the appearance of individuals allegedly responsible for the incident. They are needed for clarification and settlement discussions.

Warning of Further Action
The Chakhrama Youth Organisation stated that failure to comply within the stipulated timeframe would compel it to take appropriate decisions and actions under Angami customary law and established resolutions. The notice further stated that the concerned parties would be held solely responsible and accountable for the alleged act of violence against CPO leaders.
A copy of the notice has also been forwarded to print media and media houses.
