The Government of India’s Ministry of Tribal Affairs has approved a grant of ₹23.09 crore for the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme. This will benefit Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in Nagaland.

The funds, amounting to ₹23,09,91,000, will be released to the State Government of Nagaland as recurring aid. This will depend on the availability of central funds. The grant is meant to support the education of ST students pursuing post-matric studies across the state.
Funds Released Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme
The document further specifies that the expenditure will be debitable to the Major Head 3601 Grants-in-Aid to State Governments. It falls under the sub-head for Centrally Sponsored Schemes (Tribal Area Sub-Plan). The Programme for the Development of Scheduled Tribes (PM Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana) is also included. This financial assistance aims to strengthen higher education access among tribal students in Nagaland. It also promotes equitable academic development through continued central support.
