The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has publicly condemned derogatory remarks made by a YouTuber operating under the channel name “Tsatingla Sangtam.” This was in connection with a recent altercation at a Dimapur supermarket. According to the WSYF, these comments were made despite the matter already being resolved through a public apology. The organization describes the statements as mocking and demeaning to WSYF’s arbitration process. Moreover, they provoked caste sensitivities and compared the incident to cases outside Nagaland. These actions are described as deeply disrespectful and misleading to the Sumi community.

The press release further highlighted that referencing incidents outside Nagaland to insult the Sumi community is provocative. The YouTuber’s remarks about WSYF’s handling of the situation are also seen as highly provocative. The WSYF stresses that such statements risk distorting facts and fostering communal tension. Call for Fairness and Mutual Respect in Business

Reaffirming its commitment to indigenous rights and a fair marketplace, the WSYF urges both locals and non-locals to maintain mutual respect.
